What is LIGA?
We make beautiful things out of sustainable materials.
Organic, unbleached cotton, compostable cloth, recycled plastics, ceramics and ethically-sourced cork; we only take what the planet's happy to give us, and in turn we give back by creating cleverly-designed things for your home.
LIGA is our business and how we make our living, but it's also our family, who we are, how we live and what we believe in.

Why cork?
Our cork is naturally grown and hand-harvested from cork oak trees in Portugal’s Montado forests. Skilled workers carefully cut the bark from the lower trunk without harming the tree, which then begins to heal and regrow—ready for harvest again in nine years.
Cork oaks are a long-term crop: they’re 25 years old before their first harvest and 43 before producing bark good enough for wine stoppers. They can live up to 200 years, all while helping the planet—Portugal’s cork forests absorb 10 million tonnes of CO₂ annually.
Even as a LIGA product, cork continues to breathe and store CO₂. It’s a truly remarkable, living material.
